Mr. Appas specialise in high-volume, highly available systems with printing and packaging applications automation. Through his company SGO Premedia Limited, he excelled in combining solution design and development methodologies with a focus on agencies, brands, converters, print & packaging companies.
The packaging and prepress markets are busy and growing in the UK, as they are estimated to be worth £500M by 2024, but the sector is one of those affected by the skill shortage. Professionals with the right technical qualifications are sought after, so Mr Appas want to offer customised training models for individuals, inclusive of placement assistance. Freshers from college will have the opportunity to enroll in 3-12 months of training, get the relevant certifications, and be placed in a job. Mr. Appas plan to design a packaging prepress automated tool for training that can be customised and adapted as per the framework's requirements and sold to schools, colleges, and community centres. It will save 10 % on project management costs.
Mr. Appas will bring to the UK his strong technical expertise, honed over 22 years as a prepress technician, applications engineer and Esko software trainer, coaching many teams from many of the world’s global agencies. This enabled him to learn and build a reprographics business from scratch, utilising the skills he had acquired, turning this into a success and employing over 50 people.
